Through storytelling and practical examples, Doris will share how sheās woven permaculture principles into her life and work ā from PaeCycle (a local food-scrap collection) and Pataka Kai (a public food-sharing cupboard) to her role as a Toru Education trustee. Together, weāll explore how the three core ethics, Care for People, Care for the Earth, and Fair Share, can guide us in making more thoughtful, regenerative choices every day. Expect a mix of gentle hands-on learning, reflective conversation, and time in the garden (compost definitely included!). After lunch, weāll look at the design process as a framework for finding your āwhatās next?ā, whether thatās in your backyard, your community, or your own life. No prior experience is needed, just curiosity and an open heart. Youāll leave with fresh ideas, inspiration, and connection to both the land and each other.
