Rabbi Dr. Shmuly Yanklowitz is a leading Jewish ethicist and social-impact leader. As President & Dean of Valley Beit Midrash in Scottsdale, Arizona, he cultivates a vibrant, pluralistic network of learning and moral leadership engaging thousands across denominations, cultures, and faith traditions.
He is the founder of several influential organizations—including Uri L’Tzedek: Orthodox Social Justice, Shamayim: Jewish Animal Advocacy, and Yatom: The Jewish Foster & Adoption Network—each rooted in his conviction that spiritual life must lead to courageous action.

Interfaith Comedy

Feel-good “edutainment” that reduces prejudice through laughter. Featuring comedians from different faiths (Christian, Muslim, Jewish, Hindu) all on the same stage! The 70-minute clean comedy show is followed by an audience Q&A and includes a dessert reception. No preaching, just laughs.
Interfaith Comedy is a recipient of the 2025 Bridge Builder Award from the Interfaith Council of Metropolitan Washington.
Purim is a holiday of joy! We’ll sample some hamentasch (a traditional fruit-filled Purim cookie) and learn about the holiday. Join us for a special project inspired by the current PJCC art gallery exhibit, with Kimberly Gordon, Senior Director of Cultural Arts and Adult Programs.
Bunco is a lively, social dice game that requires no previous experience, making it perfect for newcomers. It’s a game of pure chance, so everyone has an equal opportunity to win. Beginners are always welcome
Join Peninsula Temple Beth El for a day of Purim fun! The Purim Spiel and singalong begins in the PTBE Sanctuary at 10:15 AM, followed by the Carnival in Fellowship Hall from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM. Games, face painting, crafts, bubbles, food, prizes, hamantaschen and MORE! Come in costume!
For both beginner and experienced dancers, you'll start with simple steps, learn a couple of new dances, and enjoy open dance time where favorites can be requested. Come for an afternoon of fun, learning, and connection with instructor Bronwyn Eisenberg.

Social Spark: 40’s to 70’s Music Nostalgia

Are you a Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin fan? Join Social Spark to sing along with George Moore. He will cover popular songs from the 40’s to the 70’s
George Moore is a crooner—a style of male singer known for an intimate, smooth, and sentimental vocal sound that rose to popularity from the late 1920s through the 1950s. A retired Lutheran school teacher, George has a special love for the music of the 1960s—the songs that shaped his teenage years.
Each week will focus on a new classic or modern rock song. All instruments welcome. It’s a great opportunity to connect with fellow musicians and explore new musical styles together. Musicians ages 16 and up only, please.
Learn ballet technique in a fun, welcoming, and non-judgmental environment with attentive instruction from Kori. Ballet is a great way to stay active while also strengthening your posture, core, balance, and mental focus. Whether you’re brand new to ballet or returning after years away, this class offers an enjoyable and rewarding experience for every level.
