This winter, the PJCC Art Gallery is featuring The Lost Princess, an exhibition by artist Jessica Tamar Deutsch, on view through March 24. The exhibition presents a series of visual works inspired by The Lost Princess, a Hasidic folktale by Rebbe Nachman of Breslov, translated into a contemporary visual form.
Drawing on Jewish mysticism and tradition, the visual retelling brings the story into the present by exploring grief, resilience, and the pursuit of justice, while reflecting on the journey of exile and return, echoed in Rebbe Nachman’s teaching that “the whole world is a very narrow bridge — and the main thing is not to be afraid.”
