📣 Special Holiday Hours, Breast Cancer Awareness Month, New Art Show & More
This fall, PJCC invites you to stretch both your curiosity and creativity with two distinctive adult enrichment programs. Our D.I.Wise Food Preservation and Mind Sharpener™️ series are designed to spark inspiration, deepen learning, and build community—keeping your hands and your mind fully engaged.
In D.I.WiseFood Preservation, participants explore the time-honored techniques of safe home food preservation in an engaging five-week series. Guided by the UC Master Food Preservers of San Mateo and San Francisco Counties, you’ll delve into fermentation, water-bath canning, cheesemaking basics, fruit spreads, and creative edible gifts. Each Friday session blends science, history, and cultural traditions with practical, hands-on experience. The series culminates in a celebratory tasting party featuring class-made delicacies. No prior experience required—just curiosity and a love of good food! D.I.Wise Food Preservation kicks off on 10/17, click here to learn more.
Mind Sharpener™️ is an evidence-based, award-winning program designed to provide participants with a comprehensive workout to help prevent cognitive loss. It’s designed for individuals who want to exercise their brain to stay sharp. Each session is comprised of fun and engaging activities designed to stimulate the six major cognitive areas of the brain, reaction time, visual-spatial, attention and concentration, memory, language and problem solving. This program is presented by JFCS' Seniors at Home in partnership with PJCC. Mind Sharpener™️begins on 10/21, click here to learn more.
Whether you’re savoring the tang of homemade sauerkraut or the thrill of an eye-opening conversation, these experiences are crafted to keep you inspired, engaged, and connected.
