Fall is in the air! As always, there's so much to do on and around Mount Desert Island. Read on for some end-of-summer highlights and ways to stay involved as the crisp autumn air continues to roll in.

How a small team made a big impact this summer
This August, 40 people joined together on the most idyllic late summer day to network, picnic, compile bags of trash, load MCHT boats for transport to the mainland, and truck it all to the dump and recycling facility. 

Together, this group of volunteers and staff removed 1020 pounds of traps and 1500 pounds of plastic and debris. Marshall Island sparkles a little brighter today thanks to their hard work!

We had a great time on our Tinker Island Field trip this summer. Thank you to everyone who showed up and made the day such a memorable one.

Be sure to stay on the lookout for opportunities to get involved! Our lands and staff serve as resources for people looking to get outside. We host special field trips and events for our MDI community including island field trips, our annual Fall Celebration (keep reading), and more!

Come join us to celebrate fall with your friends and neighbors at Stone Barn Farm Preserve in Bar Harbor!

Walk the trails, enjoy tasty local snacks, listen to live music, and get updates on what's happening in your neighborhood. You can also check out the progress on renovation of the historic barn.
